Cat Cude – Founder, Trailhead Tutoring
Trailhead Tutoring is the heart-work of my life — shaped by every challenge I’ve faced, every student I’ve taught, and the belief that no one’s potential should go untapped.
Though I now hold both a Bachelor and Master of Science in Conservation Biology and have over 12 years of classroom experience, my journey here wasn’t easy — or traditional.
As a teen, I struggled in school. Despite being labeled as “full of potential,” I often felt misunderstood — and at times, harmed — by the very systems meant to support me. I dropped out of high school, earned my GED, and took a chance on myself thanks to one teacher who believed in me and a $1,000 scholarship. I worked overnight shifts at IHOP and started community college at the bottom — three levels of remedial math before I even saw College Algebra.
But something clicked. I discovered I could learn. That I liked learning. And that with the right support, I could rebuild from scratch — with confidence, curiosity, and purpose.
Now, two decades later, I’m an educator, a mom of three (a high schooler, a UT graduate, and a newborn), and the founder of Trailhead Tutoring — a platform built to give students what I needed most back then:
👉 Support that sees the whole person.
👉 Tools that build life and learning skills.
👉 A community that believes in growth, not perfection.
Trailhead has grown far beyond tutoring.
We now offer a unique mix of academic coaching, self-discovery tools, adaptive diagnostics, and skill-building workshops that help teens reconnect with their confidence, identity, and goals — not just survive school, but start thriving in it.
Whether a student is burned out, bored, or just looking to level up, Trailhead meets them where they are and walks with them toward who they’re becoming.
Because sometimes all it takes is the right guide at the right time — and a trailhead to get started.
